Blank RAM Cards For Sale

I found a source for blank RAM cards that are compatible with our "A Series" processors. The cards are branded "Atari Portfolio", but it has been well documented on the mailing list that they will work for our purposes. Because I have an A3 myself, I can also pre-load the card for you with one of the SYSEX files from the site for a small fee. It may be a little while before I can add the whole "shopping cart" thing to the website, so if you're interested send me an email via the feedback form for now. Here's a basic run down of pricing - but feel free to ask if you have any questions:

Blank RAM card: $20
Pre-loaded card: $25
Shipping within the US: $5
Shipping outside the US: $10

*NOTE* Because I only own an A3 myself (unless anyone wants to donate an A1/A2!), I can only make pre-loaded cards for the A3. In theory these will work with the A1/A2, but I can't confirm that. If you decide to email about an order, make sure you tell me the quantity and which pre-loaded cards you want (SPC-01 - SPC-09). I'll get back to you with details about payment methods (Paypal preferred but I'll accept checks and money orders as long as they clear before I ship!).

Here's a picture of the card.

Product Comparison Page

I just added an A1/A2/A3 Product Comparison based on the various advertising scans in the "unsorted" section. It's kind of a broad overview so if anyone has something they think should be added, leave a comment here and let me know.

The Korg M/T Series Super Site

The Korg M/T Series Super Site

"The Korg M/T Series Super Site is the site for Korg M/T Series Synths. This includes the Korg M1, M1R, M3R, T1, T2, T3, and Invision M1 Plus 1 synths. There's more info on this site than you can probably "digest" in one sitting so mark it as a favorite and the return trip will be an easy one."

For those of you that also use Korg keyboards, this website has tons of info, cards and SYSEX files. They also have some great tutorials on MIDI and SYSEX in general, so if you're new to these things you should go take a peek!

I'm also talking to the owners of the site about getting a batch of blank RAM cards to sell here. If I can get my hands on some, I also want to make them available pre-loaded with the SYSEX files I have available here for those of you that don't want to bother with the whole computer/MIDI setup stuff. I'd be interested to know how many people would be interested in this service, so take a second and leave a comment here! :)

Email Viruses!

Arrrgghhh.... I hate viruses! This is why I usually use my Mac or Linux machines for reading email. Unfortunately it looks like the most recent virus has infected several members of our mailing list. :(

I'm obviously not going to name names (or email addresses), but I encourage everyone to do a scan of their system to rule yourself out. If you get an email saying that you've been removed from the group, it's because you've sent a number of virus infected emails to either me or the group. You're more than welcome to re-join once you've fixed the problem. Also, don't worry - Yahoo has been doing a very good job of making sure the group doesn't get these messages. Instead it sends them all to ME for review! :) Eeek!

If you need a virus scanning program, I use McAfee. They also have a free scan thing available on their website. It doesn't fix anything but it will tell you if you have a problem and then you can go out and buy something to fix it. Another popular choice is Norton Antivirus.

Major A1/A2/A3 Artists

Hey folks. I just mentioned on the mailing list that I'd like to get a somewhat comprehensive list of all the major artists that are using our beloved effects processors these days. Since Blogger has this cool commenting feature now, let's use it for a little collaboration. If you know of an artist that uses an A1/A2/A3 and can somehow prove it (website link, album liner notes, trade magazine), post a comment here and let me know. If we get more than a couple, I'll add a page to the site to keep a more formal list. Now go out there and research! :)

A2/A3 Backlight Source

It looks like Sandy already left a comment here on my last post. I just wanted to let everyone know that we've been talking for the last few weeks about the best way to make her backlight replacement parts and instructions available to korgaseries visitors. Feel free to use the link she posted for now, but there's a good chance that I'll also include her contact info directly on the website somewhere.

The main reason for this post is to let everyone know that Sandy isn't spamming us, she's legit. :)
